John Saldanha

Associate Professor Supply Chain Management, West Virginia University

Professor Saldanha is an award winning researcher and teacher. He began his supply chain career in the merchant marine serving for a decade as navigational officer on a variety of cargo vessels in worldwide trades. His Bachelor degree in Maritime Business is from the University of Plymouth, UK, and PhD in Business Administration is from the Smeal College of Business, Penn State. His first academic appointment was at the Fisher College of Business, Ohio State. He then joined the WVU faculty where he helped launch the Global Supply Chain Management undergraduate program and the Business Data Analytics graduate program at the College of Business & Economics. A recognized expert in global supply chain management he is invited to speak at academic institutions and conferences worldwide. Through his research he continues to engage closely with firms, including those in West Virginia, on their global supply chain issues. Most of all Professor Saldanha considers himself an educator employing his research and consulting experience to develop and mentor the supply chain and business leaders of tomorrow.
